What guard did you use on the sides? Or if you didn’t use a guard. What guard/s do you recommend to achieve that same length/look?

Why don’t take make a 3 inch guard? Would make life so easy. Would never need a barber.

  5. sprocket dog on November 18, 2020 at 8:56 pm

Was the #16 guard you used open or closed when you cut this? Thank You.

I cannot risk it being made of plastic. A bend in the guide comb would mean an uneven haircut. Does that happen in longer guide combs ?

Nice video. I need 3" on the top but they are not available. I saw a guy he made that himself with a 3D printer. So surprise that no one makes them to sell. If I am a businessman I would produce these mega size clipper guards.

  22. clo289 on November 18, 2020 at 9:17 pm

Nice. I’ve been looking at cutting comb over for my son’s hair and all these cuts are basically triming the top with scissors. Just thought, well all that cutting is basically the same as having a long guard/clip…. boom! Came across your video. Thanks!!

  23. porscheoscar on November 18, 2020 at 9:18 pm

LOL. People terrified of scissors. I just did my second haircut of my life. I bought the Wahl Chrome clipper set which came with hair clips and scissors. And I bought a set of blending shears for $20 on Amazon. The first time I just used the clippers on the sides moving down from a #7,6,5,4,3. for the top I followed the videos with the most views on how to cut a half inch off the top with scissors. Lastly I took the blending shears and just smoothed out the hard edges between what was cut with clippers and the regular scissors. Several people asked me what illegal backyard barber shop I just came back from. Lol. then I Just practiced doing tiny touch ups over the next few weeks. I think I can get it done in half an hour taking my time.

  24. Tom C on November 18, 2020 at 9:19 pm

I think these custom guards are great for roughing out long hair. It’s always best to start of with the largest comb guards then reduce in size each time. Then scissor and blend near the end. Just wish the larger ones where more available to purchase.

you know i was thinking of trying the andis clipper guards instead, they have more teeth on them and are more narrower

  40. Thore Crößmann on November 18, 2020 at 9:36 pm

Where did u buy these Clipper- Guards ?

  41. Kevin M on November 18, 2020 at 9:37 pm

I really just want to cut my own hair at home. Literally I hate using scissors to cut the top short so if I had a bigger guard it would be ideal so I can just zoom through it and not worry about cutting parts to low

  42. Mohammed Hadwan on November 18, 2020 at 9:37 pm

do you know where I can get #16 guard

  43. Adolf Hitler on November 18, 2020 at 9:38 pm

Where did you buy your razor ?

  44. Starchaser on November 18, 2020 at 9:38 pm

Why is there little to no hair on the sides and back? When I use the # 14 (custom 1.75 inches) and # 16 guard combs, I cut my hair all the same length that I cut it on the top on the sides and back also. It gives me nice length covering the top half of my ears and mullet length in the back. Regardless of how you want to look at it, that is how hair is meant to be cut and rest. Hair grows naturally from one length resembling a mullet. If someone must have it, then subtle tapering with a # 8, # 10, or # 12 is okay but you do understand that regardless of how popular or trendy the undercut gets that it doesn’t look remotely human sculpted and cut to intentionally look very inhumane and contradicts human biology? You are correct however about # 16 not being a true 2 inch guard. The custom # 14 or 1.75 inch guard comb which I have is practically the same size and cuts at the exact same length.
