We Gave Ourselves Haircuts Using A Haircutting Clip

We tested the CreaClip, an at-home haircutting tool. The CreaClip costs $39 and claims to be usable for all hair types, to be easy to use at home, and requires no prior hair cutting experience. We tried the CreaClip on, straight hair, wavy hair, curly hair, and bangs to see if the product is actually worth investing in versus getting multiple haircuts every year.

Check out the CreaClip set here: https://www.amazon.com/Original-CreaClip-Set-Professional-Cutting/dp/B004NMR6TY/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1546893142&sr=1-1&keywords=creaclip

As a hairstylist I wouldn’t really recommend using a creaclip if you have a type 3A-4C because curoy hair gets really stretch a whole lot especially when you use it compare to just having it trimmed professionally. However if you have a type 1-2B hair which is straight to just slightly wavy then you’re good to go with a creaclip. Pro tip: don’t cut it straight across whenever you cut your own hair… It is best to still point cut the hair because it’s more forgiving and it lessens the error in cutting compare to just chopping it in one swipe.

  10. Adriana Torres on January 9, 2021 at 11:02 pm

Love how people want to be cheap for haircuts. Literally a haircut is NEEDED. You have to take care of your hair. These women are making it seem like they paid BANK to get a trim… if you pay your doctor to take care of your body, a dermatologist to take care of your skin, why is it such a hassle to look for a good stylist and pay them for a GOOD haircut. I get some stylists ask way too much for trims. I charge $15 for a trim, like no parent needs to cut their own kids hair unless they are licensed to. Not doing it yourself. This product is the most terrible idea I’ve ever seen. Cheap people= cheap results. Have fun explaining to the stylist why you jacked your own hair up.

*I’ve had mine for years and luv it!

  30. Dawn Blake on January 9, 2021 at 11:21 pm

These people that are commenting about separating the hair…are you Hair dressers? LMBO I’ve been using this over 2 years & I don’t have to separate my hair to use this!

  31. Oli Ooh on January 9, 2021 at 11:24 pm

  32. Pixie Sprite on January 9, 2021 at 11:25 pm

I’ve never seen the Crea Clip people do a demo on super curly hair. I would flat iron before using it.

  38. CreaClip on January 9, 2021 at 11:38 pm

Awesome, always make sure to familiarize yourself with our instructional CreaClip videos before you cut so you can cut with confidence. CreaClip allows you to create many different hairstyles in the comfort and safety of your home.

  39. Loretta Mejia on January 9, 2021 at 11:42 pm

First off, they did not comb their hair evenly and did not use proper cutting shears. This was very poorly done.

  40. Westielover on January 9, 2021 at 11:44 pm

All the “I don’t get haircuts or I haven’t been to a salon for a haircut in years” girls are about to need a haircut after this lmao y’all just messed up your hair, it looks bad.

  41. LIBRIAN Sana on January 9, 2021 at 11:44 pm

  42. E P on January 9, 2021 at 11:45 pm

  43. kpopexo lover999 on January 9, 2021 at 11:45 pm

  45. Taco The Cat on January 9, 2021 at 11:46 pm

The haircuts where I live are $8-100+
    $8 tho

  46. Treka Double on January 9, 2021 at 11:47 pm

I personnally cut my own hair for two reasons: 1. It saves me a looooot of time. Sure hair stylists do a fantastic job, I absolutely not cut my hair as good as the would, but it takes 1h30 for me and if I do it myself it’s 30 minutes. 2. It’s not that expensive if you ask for an apprentice to do it, but I personally don’t have that much money and there are things I would rather buy with that money instead of a professional haircut. The thing is, my result is not really clean, it’s not really good, but it’s enough for me ^^

  47. Gnome COOCHIE on January 9, 2021 at 11:48 pm

    They screwed it up lol

  48. Dawn Blake on January 9, 2021 at 11:50 pm

Besides…hair grows back! Just don’t be a Moron & cut too much hair off!

  49. Lesley Dickson on January 9, 2021 at 11:50 pm

Where did they find so many people who’ve never used scissors before?

  50. Lindy Lund on January 9, 2021 at 11:50 pm

Sharp scissors might help. Not impressed with this tool.
