Hey Guys! Hopefully this new video on what I believe the necessary tools for professional barbers look like. Tools like cordless clippers (magic clips, wahl senior 1919), or cordless machines like andis outliners, and andis profoil shavers all that i use for my process. Thanks for watching guys!

For the razor blades do you use a new blade for each client? Or how often do you need to change them for a new one?

Brodie, since you work in a shop, do you use soap and water to clean the combs and guards etc, dry them, then put it in the barbercide? Seems time consuming, or do you have like 10 pairs of everything and then at the end of the day you clean it all at once?

  20. Dave Lee on March 8, 2021 at 10:34 pm

I’m a customer and I would like to buy my own clippers/ the things my barber will need. I trust my barber but I just feel safer having my own equipment I can bring to him and take care of that hasn’t touched other’s heads. I’ll appreciate the help if people could hook me up with amazon links on things to buy. I also asked my barber and he would like these that I’m about to list but I feel things are still missing like guards, blades, etc…

To be a barber is $11,000 to start with most important fact.
2nd: learn how to manage money
3rd:Educate yourself on how to do taxes as a independent contractor
    4th: Master cutting hair
5th: Manage prices for cuts for example comb over should cost more then a bald taper.
    6th: Have communication skills
7th: Choosing your clients carefully once your skills are up.

Most youtubers speak on the fun part. The parts people already know. People want to cut hair see the money see the success but as a barber man so much more goes in to cutting besides tools, skills and clients lol. Real talk

As a barber these are important things to learn besides cutting hair. Cutting hair is a factor but learning the business aspect of the industry is key. Benefits aren’t paid for you pay out of pocket. You can be a master barber with huge cliential but fail because you owe taxes, you have no benefits and you not making money gains charging a general price or median price for all cuts losing money

You are a true educator!!! I am a girl who is really not into hair at all!!!  I’ve always had dreads, fades, and I’ve been doing the sponge for the past 2 years…for about a week now, I have decided that I want to go back to my fade, but it is hard to find a consistent/fly barber in my city…I also want to try color(s) (which I have never done in my life)…any suggestions would be great!!! Thank you for explaining the tools, it really helps…I don’t know what my hair future holds, but one thing for sure—you’ll be my teacher!!!  I appreciate all of your knowledge!!!  I have been a educator for 15 years and you are a true educator!!! Not everyone can explain what they do the way you do–with ease and class…you can tell you love what you do…I so want to be a client of yours!!!  You are so fly!!!
