In this video we cover two techniques that will help you improve your scissor work. Each technique not only creates a better result but in our opinion causes less strain during a busy day of cutting. If you want to improve your scissor work I recommend trying these techniques as I am sure you will achieve better results.

Okay so I love this video, it’s a great help. I cannot figure out for the life of me how you transition from flipped (palmed) to vertical cutting. Is there another video where you use use vertical cutting technique where I can spy the flipping technique with it? Or are you just a master of the dark arts and I’m an idiot 🤔

  34. Richard Grummett on April 2, 2021 at 11:35 pm

I think it’s quite restrictive wearing a tight leather jacket whilst trying to cut hair all be it a nice jacket. I have noticed your comb holding hand isn’t up to speed with sectioning hair and then holding the hair up with no tension for doing the basic section club cut. It’s almost looking like you need a third hand and carpal tunnel syndrome doesn’t look to far away on the horizon with this scissor action. It’s basically a faddy new way of reinventing the wheel in analogy. I can’t imagine trying to do 25 haircuts in 10 hours on lockdown Eve or Christmas Eve sticking with style of cutting it would be unbearable. Standard club cutting and scissors over comb have been around for hundreds of years. Just make sure you are standing with good posture and your customers sat at the right and sat up a straight as possible and bingo!!! Nice idea but not practical just fashionable next the technique might be using using the feet or the nipple and armpit technique. it’s just peer pressure and jumping on bandwagon due to arty Facebook,Instagram and YouTube accounts and dreamy college hairdressers selling out… herd mentality and lemmings it’s not personal it’s just not practical. I’ve been a barber/hairdresser for 35 years so I’m talking with experience but still willing to learn but this technique is a big NO from me.
