I use a similar method..I make my stripe with the 1 blade as big as I can. Like an inch an a 1/4 wide. That makes the skin line fading easier. I fade down from the top with detachable down from a 3 1/2 or 2 to 1a…. So fade down to 1a and use guide lines for skin and 1 blade

  2. P Maradiaga on March 15, 2021 at 10:20 pm

Decent cut, fade needs a lot more transition. You preached detachable clippers (I got excited) then switched it up half way. Thanks for the vid tho.

  3. BobaDavis on March 15, 2021 at 10:21 pm

Fading with detachable clippers is something that is not impossible, but you need the perfect client head for it, otherwise you’ll just find yourself coming right back to adjustable clipper, to clean the cut up.

  7. Fluky Review on March 15, 2021 at 10:24 pm

Yes cleanliness has gone down at many barber shops specially when they have the younger snowflake millennials working there now. Snowflake millennial barbers do half the job. They don’t clean you off and don’t shave. Millennials what good are they? A pathetic useless generation indeed.

  8. Bkilla217 on March 15, 2021 at 10:25 pm

I love my 76 I swear by them!! Bought them back in barber school days still rocking with them 12 years later no problem

Why take so long to do a simple fade. Use your guards, hold your clippers properly, it is not necessary to grind them into his scalp. Start with your longest guard then go down to 1/4 then to less to fade to zero. Shave the neck and trim out finish top with shears and thinners or a longer guard, cross check to balance and take out any points finish with your your T- edgers. I am a Master Barber too and I agree with you aboutkeeping your impliments clean and hand washing also.

  20. Jiro Tarou on March 15, 2021 at 10:37 pm

I thought 00000 blade for 76 is same as andis trimmer.
Why the need for changing equipment?
Please enlighten me as I’m just nonprofessional self hair cutter so much in love with classic 76 for 20 years.
    I just love that machine.

  21. Primping on March 15, 2021 at 10:37 pm

Now you have to make a video on how to do this fade on yourself. I cut my own hair so it’s a bit different when you can’t see but go by feel

So he’s doing all this high-horse talking about the lowered standards in barbering and the importance of hygiene… yet he has combs not fully submerged in Barbicide… But,
his fade work is good. I do like the method he used.

I miss the barber life. I had to put it down. Carpal tunnel made me choose between being a barber and a musician. Music is my main passion, but I wish I could do both. It makes me sad.

Thank you for posting Ive been cutting my own hair since 1990 i live in Australia and have only had Wahl clippers. I have attempted fades but as i never grow my hair longer than number 4 on top i am limited with experimentation I cut my brothers hair and thats about it for customers but am interested in pursuing barbering. I just bought Oster clippers from the states and had to purchase a 120v to 240 v step down to work them over here and was unaware of the blade sizes (poor research). I love the feel and closeness of cut without the guard. Love the Oster 76.

  30. Andre Poole on March 15, 2021 at 10:50 pm

Do you only use the hair brush to brush off clipper?

  31. Nichole Shea on March 15, 2021 at 10:50 pm

    Hell 👍

  32. Cody Walker Jr. on March 15, 2021 at 10:53 pm

The closer you are to skin the more blending room you need. If you think about the concept you can really smush the blend between a 1 1/2 and a 3 1/2 but you cant smush the
1.5 to skin or it looks like a bowl from a distance…. so the tighter blade of the guideline needs to be bigger and as the blades get longer they can be thinner guidelines. I struggled with this for years until I started stretching the first guideline with the one blade. That cut my time down by 15 to 20 minutes per cut

  33. Rich 0 on March 15, 2021 at 10:53 pm

Really should spray your blades after use not before. The sprays require 10inutes to completely work. And for those saying "I couldn’t wait that long between cuts" you’re not….youre using your number 2 then brushing (or I prefer compressed air) then spray and let sit till you use your number two on the next client. Use your guides for as long as you need them but once you’re done put them away it wastes time touching things twice.

its not ILLEGAL to re-use a "straight razor" blade. However re-using a replaceable blade is disgusting.

I watch lots of videos on doing hair fades and I get tips from most that I watch, so it’s nice too see fades done different ways, I like his technique but I find leaving the hair on the bottom distracting while during the entire hair cut, great video tho

  40. BobaDavis on March 15, 2021 at 10:59 pm

It’s really not possible to fade with a detachable blade clipper. There is too much variance between the blade sizes, to try to reconcile those without an adjustable clipper.

Detachable blade clippers are good for removing bulk or a single level cut, that’s about it.

Hello my friend. Isn’t that clipper an Oster A5 with detachable blades? Insn’t it for exclusively veterinary use? I love the sound it makes when working and it seems to be very though. Nice haircut.

Why do so many people have to be so critical about the way someone gets a Great job done. every person in the hair industry has a way to do something different than another, and thankfully so!! This was a beautiful cut, who gives a flying crap about how many brands of clippers and blades are used..all the criticizers should pop out their own video of the "perfect way" of doing the same cut as this one…give the dude a break!!!
