  7. P Miller on February 3, 2021 at 8:27 pm

I graduated from honest to God barber college & cut hair for several years and never knew about this! As soon as I finished watching your video, I used my old Oster clippers and attachment and gave myself a hair cut. this IS the easiest way to cut your own hair and foolproof (unless you are a HUGE fool and had way to much to drink!) Fantastic video!!

  8. Winter G on February 3, 2021 at 8:29 pm

Did you wet the hair if even slightly before clipping? Thank you

  9. Terabyte on February 3, 2021 at 8:31 pm

After a year’s worth of DIY haircuts based on a number of YouTube videos, for myself and my boy we ended up with some really questionable results. But I have to say your video is the best one ever. So easy to do.

I shall be making a contribution to your page 🙂

Thank you from myself and my boy from Bradford, United Kingdom

Hi Michael, this is great – I’ve been looking for a vid like this especially now with lockdown! I have a two block hair cut where the sides and back are a 2/3 and the top is quite long (i’d say longer than the width of my palm and enough to give me a long fringe). I want to keep the length but take off a lot of the bulk like in your video, as right now I’m starting to look like a mushroom! I imagine a no.3 might cut it too short or take too much off, do you suggest maybe going with a 6? Thanks and great vid!

  20. Lizzie Tansley on February 3, 2021 at 8:39 pm

you saved my dads hair from a buzz cut thank you 🙏🏻

  21. Rivelino on February 3, 2021 at 8:40 pm

What number cut did you do on the back and sides?

  22. craig dalziel on February 3, 2021 at 8:41 pm

    Excellent video, thanks 👏
    Let’s tame this mop.

  23. safe mush. on February 3, 2021 at 8:43 pm

mint video..I always did it front to back and always fucked it up..top bloke

  24. Don Vape on February 3, 2021 at 8:44 pm

Doing this today but I let my hair get too long so maybe I need to use a number 6 first and cut it all down.

  25. Tom Wood on February 3, 2021 at 8:44 pm

Out of interest, will this work if my hair is pretty dam long and also super thick?

  26. Mattys Mom on February 3, 2021 at 8:45 pm

In all seriousness.. good videos.. thanks for posting them.

  27. JAY Macky on February 3, 2021 at 8:46 pm

Or you could use a higher number guard. IMHO going against the grain ensures an even cut. Most home clippers go up to an 8 guard or 1 inch cut. You can puchase higher numbers at a hair or beauty supply shop.

  28. Barnz Barnzo on February 3, 2021 at 8:47 pm

Thanks for this vid, it come in so handy knowing how to do it easily on my teens mop! It really does help 👍

  29. English Cartoons on February 3, 2021 at 8:47 pm

I assume this is for longer hairs. So can I just go from the front to the back if I wanna keep my top hair at 22mm(which is number7)?

  30. Travel Chef on February 3, 2021 at 8:49 pm

How do you select the appropriate guard to ensure tapering of hair so that no lumps are formed

  31. KineticHobbies on February 3, 2021 at 8:49 pm

Thank you so much for sharing this!

  32. Mark Collins on February 3, 2021 at 8:50 pm

Is this actually taking length off the top or just thinning it? Thanks

  33. The Brookson's Lad on February 3, 2021 at 8:54 pm

    Terrific video!

For the top of the head, would you recommend this same cutting approach for African-type hair?

  34. Bill Croke on February 3, 2021 at 8:54 pm

I am just starting to cut my hair it was a good help

  35. G F on February 3, 2021 at 8:56 pm

I have been cutting my hair for years. I have a question…. is it just me or are gray hairs harder to cut? I’ve noticed the grayer I get the more times I have to go over it. True, or is it just my imagination?

  36. Canuckmom1958 on February 3, 2021 at 8:56 pm

Thanks for this. I’m giving hubby a Covid Cut this weekend, and this is a great tutorial !! Also..you could recite the Privacy Agreement for Apple, and I’d still listen…lovely Scots brogue !

  37. Chris Janion on February 3, 2021 at 8:57 pm

As somebody who is a fully trained barber and ran my own business I have never seen a worse haircut in my life, what a load of rubbish

  47. Jason L on February 3, 2021 at 9:06 pm

How to cut the hair at the back upper area of the head (the back hair area that usually rest on headrest/pillow)? Do you do the same thing like how you cut the top?
