I’ve been cutting my hair for years now and it was only recently that I got a compliment when I followed your method. Thanks!
At last a no nonsense guide you can only get that from a Scot 😉. Off to cut hubby’s hair now 👍 🏴
my crown’s bald and creeping ever more upward lol
Hi, i did this with my beard trimmer with 12mm guard i was afraid of doing with beard trimmer, but finally did this, it went great so far, thanks 😊
Great methods! I tried your previous two video methods adapted with one length higher on my new Wahl and it worked a treat. I appreciate my Barber 100% more now though you guys are magicians
Your own hairs doesn’t cut perfectly
I graduated from honest to God barber college & cut hair for several years and never knew about this! As soon as I finished watching your video, I used my old Oster clippers and attachment and gave myself a hair cut. this IS the easiest way to cut your own hair and foolproof (unless you are a HUGE fool and had way to much to drink!) Fantastic video!!
Did you wet the hair if even slightly before clipping? Thank you
After a year’s worth of DIY haircuts based on a number of YouTube videos, for myself and my boy we ended up with some really questionable results. But I have to say your video is the best one ever. So easy to do.
I shall be making a contribution to your page 🙂
Thank you from myself and my boy from Bradford, United Kingdom
works for the Hodä ouso?
Great tips! I just took a solid patch of hair off the side with a #1. I saw this video 1 day to late
cool
Excellent tutorial
I did mine before watching this and it turned out ok but will def do this next time!
Thanks for sharing this! I’ll try it out on my next cut
Just tried this and was a bit nervous but whoa brilliant tip and worked perfectly. Not as good as the barbers but looks good and easy to do.
Yikes!
I think you took some of you eyebrows off
Hi Michael, this is great – I’ve been looking for a vid like this especially now with lockdown! I have a two block hair cut where the sides and back are a 2/3 and the top is quite long (i’d say longer than the width of my palm and enough to give me a long fringe). I want to keep the length but take off a lot of the bulk like in your video, as right now I’m starting to look like a mushroom! I imagine a no.3 might cut it too short or take too much off, do you suggest maybe going with a 6? Thanks and great vid!
you saved my dads hair from a buzz cut thank you 🙏🏻
What number cut did you do on the back and sides?
Excellent video, thanks 👏
Let’s tame this mop.
mint video..I always did it front to back and always fucked it up..top bloke
Doing this today but I let my hair get too long so maybe I need to use a number 6 first and cut it all down.
Out of interest, will this work if my hair is pretty dam long and also super thick?
In all seriousness.. good videos.. thanks for posting them.
Or you could use a higher number guard. IMHO going against the grain ensures an even cut. Most home clippers go up to an 8 guard or 1 inch cut. You can puchase higher numbers at a hair or beauty supply shop.
Thanks for this vid, it come in so handy knowing how to do it easily on my teens mop! It really does help 👍
I assume this is for longer hairs. So can I just go from the front to the back if I wanna keep my top hair at 22mm(which is number7)?
How do you select the appropriate guard to ensure tapering of hair so that no lumps are formed
Thank you so much for sharing this!
Is this actually taking length off the top or just thinning it? Thanks
Terrific video!
For the top of the head, would you recommend this same cutting approach for African-type hair?
I am just starting to cut my hair it was a good help
I have been cutting my hair for years. I have a question…. is it just me or are gray hairs harder to cut? I’ve noticed the grayer I get the more times I have to go over it. True, or is it just my imagination?
Thanks for this. I’m giving hubby a Covid Cut this weekend, and this is a great tutorial !! Also..you could recite the Privacy Agreement for Apple, and I’d still listen…lovely Scots brogue !
As somebody who is a fully trained barber and ran my own business I have never seen a worse haircut in my life, what a load of rubbish
Thanks! The top is such a struggle for me. I’ll definitely give this a shot 😀
Brilliant Mike, Sgoinneil. Greetings from Stirlingshire!c Thanks.
Seems doable. Going to try it. Thanks. New subscriber
Great video!!!
Is it better with wet or dry hair thanks Mike
I’ve a different brand of clipper. What’s a #3 (in length) for Wahl?
This video should be on every mans youtube recommend!
Brilliant tips!! I have been cutting my husband’s hair and I’m fine doing the back but get a bit lost on the top and sides. I will do this next time. Thank you
If I had a mug like that I’d shave my head 🙂
How to cut the hair at the back upper area of the head (the back hair area that usually rest on headrest/pillow)? Do you do the same thing like how you cut the top?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌
Thank you sir
