I do well enough to own a house 2 cars and provide for a family of 4 on my income I doubt I will ever get rich form barbering but I have a pretty comfortable life and enjoy my job much more than anybody else’s I know

I would neva charge more than 20 that’s just arrogant it’s just a haircut.
in uk i make 80£ a day, most of shops pay the same , 9 hours of work

This is too much information. We are a secret club and it should be treated as such(the oldest money making profession in the world, next to prostitution). People still will look down on our profession. If you wanna be a barber go to school and make it happen, just know there are levels to barbering. The better your speed and techniques are, the better off you’ll be.
I make around $100 -$160 a day ……….. 65% comisión…… not counting the tips

*1000 a day??? Come on man.* You would have to book $50 hair cuts, and do 20 a day. You would need about 1-200 clients who follow you to pay $50 hair cuts. HEAR ME; You can make a living as a barber, but most don’t make near that much.

Good advice, been a barber 23 years, love every second of it. Iam a walk in business and do alot of different types of cuts, so I need to keep the line moving. It also depends on the town you living in on the amount you can charge. Thanks

Barbers should advertise more. I know some will say word of mouth is the best advertiment, and it is the BEST, and some might say advertising is week , or good one don’t need it, but I believe they need some advertisement. T.V. advertiment will probably be lame for it, but fliers or something, self verbally in the streets , a little bit, or as much as you want, just to catch some ears , trying too hard would be lame, but just enough (whatever it may be) is good, in my book. I’m not a barber, but from my experience, word only gets out if the subject is brought up, weather a dude looks freshed ou’, like he ‘bou’ to get some ladies ( or visa versa with ladies, or ) . like my friend , that I nick name SpongeBob, when he has a nice fresh wave ceaser ( or wolf shape up/ clean up) he catches ladies eyes more, but he is on his "I want to build my castle, then get my queen, or ladies. " mentality , but getting back to the topic, that’s my statment. Barbers and clients both, am I right ? If not , the why ?

I was a barber myself, eventually I look into the future so I bacame a trucking owner. Got my CDL and own 3 trucks now hopefully keep growing. Sometimes you have slow days especially on weekdays. Friday and Saturday was when it really was busy.

I did 11 hour days 15- 20$ ( 5$ off for kids and military hair cuts at 60% commision and id take home 225 avg a day

I live in Montreal,Canada average cuts with beard here is 30$ + tips at 15-20 heads a day (let’s say 18 heads=540$) × 5=2700$ – 350$ for you barber chair = 2350$ a week ! So that’s 122k a year before taxes + tips.. average good barber in Montreal makes between 80k to 100k a year with tips. So just follow your dreams and dont worry about what google says
