Why didn’t j martt use his G.I . Bill? He would’ve got free housing allowance while going to barber school for free. He could be working at the shop at the same time.

Apprenticeship programs the apprentice gets paid during training. It’s on the job training, why are you paying to be an apprentice? 🤔
I went into a school today and it’s almost 19k ima go that route cause I’m a noobie but one day ima be a master. You can bet on that.

I have ah question I started my apprenticeship today and I didn’t do well on 1 haircut …is the master barber suppose to guide you through the haircut or AT LEAST give you tips or show you certain things or are you own …I’m in a situation we’re I have 3 days to prove my self I already informed the shop owner that I need slight help with straight hair and he is a barber himself I understand he has a business to run but isn’t ah shop owner/Master suppose to at least show you somethings

Heyyy I’m so glad y’all shared this with us. Many people didn’t know they could do an apprenticeship to become a barber. Do they tell you about the cleanliness of barbering too?
My school costed me $5,100 out of pocket but I graduated debt free and got A LOT of hands on experience. I made monthly payments of $350. Im from Texas and we dont have apprenticeship programs.

On a side note, how did your PL product turn out?
My school is worth 7k but I’m only paying 4K cause they offer an in house scholarship as long as I can keep an average above 79% which is like a c average graduating in about 13 months… in my school not only do they teach us what we need for state board we actually get to cut hair as well… we do keep the tips and Monday is the only classroom day Tuesday-Friday we practice for state board or cut the walk ins hair
Fact if you haven’t cut hair before don’t do apprentice!! Don’t call yourself professional level by cutty hair in the garage!! Barbershop and garage are two different things

Man, I have nothing but mad respect for you bro. I’m here in Cincinnati ,OH bro lol and i HATE how we cant pursue an apprenticeship in the state. I have been cutting for a year officially now and the moment I got the clippers in my hand I knew I wanted to take this to another level. School does cost way to much fam, 20,000 is ridiculous and in Cincinnati we only have 1 Barber College bro! I’ve been thinking about relocating to California or Missouri and I guess i wanted to know what were your biggest challenges when you decided to me to California ?? Finding a shop ?
