I do all social media, instagram, Facebook, I’ve paid facebook to advertise, my pictures look awesome….but
it hasn’t brought me one client the year and a half I’ve been self employed. I’m a very well educated stylist I used to teach for Toni and guy for ten years, until they closed the salon in houston so I’ve tried to do the independent rental.
I also have many great google reviews and yelp reviews, and they haven’t worked at all either. I also have a very good website…it brought me ONE new client, but she was a tourist.
Btw I live and work in a higher end of the inner loop in houston tx. (Montrose)
I keep on loosing clients because they’ve moved out of town in the past year and a half. I just can’t seem to build new clients, my existing clients have done all they can do to bring me all the people they know…the other big problem is the 20-30 something’s only come once or twice a year.
I don’t know what to do…and I’m getting older….I turn 50, (but I look unusually very young). I’m thinking about going back to a commission salon in San Francisco…I build best with a salon that has walk ins…..and since San Francisco is a walking city it should work good for me….but I get worried because I feel the aches and pains of getting older…I think I must have arthritis in my legs, sometimes I’m not sure if I’m going to fall over because the back pain gets so bad when I’m blow drying someone’s hair straight. It’s really scary, I don’t have any savings, I can’t afford health insurance, nor a decent apartment here because the rents here are so expensive in houston…I have to have roommates now and live in the ghetto….
    That’s all I can afford….I think I vented too much….lol.
You have a nice videos and good suggestions.
    Keep up the good work.
