  2. xchamp101 on November 29, 2018 at 5:24 pm

Wait, people don’t tip the people who do their hair? That is stupid I’ve been tipping my hairdresser ever since I started getting my hair cut/styled

  3. Skyler Turner on November 29, 2018 at 5:24 pm

New sub…. you are freakin amazing 😍😍😍

  4. Tito on November 29, 2018 at 5:26 pm

agree with everything you said except telling people something wont fit them or their lifestyle. people can do whatever they want.

  5. SpaceSharkArt on November 29, 2018 at 5:27 pm

God watching you reminded me how much I missed my hairstylist and Im going to book an appointment for another touch up on my hair. Thank you

  6. ash the_potato on November 29, 2018 at 5:27 pm

I have balayage withojt even dying my hair in my lif

  7. Danyelle on November 29, 2018 at 5:28 pm

Honestly.. yes it is unrealistic to go from black to blonde in one session… it is also unrealistic to go from any (permanently dyed) color to platinum blonde in one session. Lol.

  8. Jelena Suput on November 29, 2018 at 5:29 pm

you are GORGEAUS👸(im a foregin girl dont mind if spelling is wrong)

  9. Jenn Truong on November 29, 2018 at 5:30 pm

I agree that there is a lot that goes into hair styling. You said it well; Good video!

  10. Autumn T. on November 29, 2018 at 5:30 pm

YES!!! tip the assistants lmao you know, the girls who brought you back and draped you, and applied your root, then shampooed you, and prepped for the cut and blowdry. hello?? thats a lot of work lmao

  11. Mariah Ramirez on November 29, 2018 at 5:31 pm

As a fellow hairdresser all of these are spot on!

  12. Piss Miggy on November 29, 2018 at 5:33 pm

I’ve lived in Europe and Australia.
They do NOT tip. If you have enough money without tips to get by it’s your problem. Ask your manager for a raise. And no we don’t think it’s stupid. It’s just the way it is.

  13. CLAYTON CALABRESE on November 29, 2018 at 5:33 pm

    😮💋💋💋

  14. Saima Ali on November 29, 2018 at 5:34 pm

stop begging for tips.. find a better job that suites you ..

  15. Captain Sawbones on November 29, 2018 at 5:34 pm

Hey, i’m really shy, i’m autistic, and i have social anxiety; when i get my hair done, especially when it’s a stylist that has very different beliefs and opinions than mine (i’m a yankee transplanted to the south so you can imagine) and sometimes i can’t always talk to my hairstylist. not to mention, but the hair cut itself is extremely pleasant and relaxing to me and it makes me feel so calm that i have to struggle not to fall asleep. is that an insult to a stylist if you dont talk to them much? is it awkward for them? is there a way you can tell them you dont want to be rude, this is just how your brain works?

  16. Maxella Roe on November 29, 2018 at 5:36 pm

This helped me a lot actually. I’m newly licensed and looking for a job in a salon, so now I know a little bit about what to expect and I can prepare myself for it.

  17. Instinctively Chelsea on November 29, 2018 at 5:40 pm

    I’m a cosmotologist, I’m with you girl.

  18. Tenar10r on November 29, 2018 at 5:40 pm

Please keep doing these videos, overall I am enjoying them very much. I have considered going to school to become a nail technician and I know it is going to be a lot more work than I expect. I like the fact that you mentioned y’all are on your feet all day and are having to contemplate several things about your client situation, hair, lifestyle etc. and are honest with them.

  19. amanda kraus on November 29, 2018 at 5:41 pm

The one time I find a hairdresser I’d trust to cut my hair-they’re a youtuber not in my town lmao

  20. Amy Mandeville on November 29, 2018 at 5:41 pm

I lost count of how many "salons" I went to for a dusting and they had no clue what I was even talking about. Smdh.

  21. Kat on November 29, 2018 at 5:44 pm

As a client I prefer the hair stylist doesn’t talk to me… Haha

  22. Dust and Gold on November 29, 2018 at 5:44 pm

your lips are bother me … lip scrub 🙂

  23. Abrielle Elise on November 29, 2018 at 5:46 pm

when you said to tip all the assistants 😭💖 yes, i’m a shampoo girl and yes tips mean the WORLD lol that’s really how we make good money half the time.

  24. Amanda Mitchell on November 29, 2018 at 5:48 pm

I’m a salon assistant and the receptionist and i hate that I don’t get tipped when i assist.. the assistants are always running around and doing non stop work just like the stylists.

  25. Annalyse74 on November 29, 2018 at 5:53 pm

This girl makes me fucking squeal with relatability 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  26. Carrie Chavanne on November 29, 2018 at 5:53 pm

I never understood why people don’t do basic research before a haircut. When I went for a pixie cut I looked for ones for a square face (my face shape). From there I looked at ones that plus size or heavier girls had, since I am a plus size woman. I ended up choosing a Ginnifer Goodwin ala Once Upon A Time. I had photos on my phone when I went in and it made my consultation that much easier. My stylist looked at the photos (I found shots from the front, side and back) and gave me a thumbs up. When I decided to start growing out my hair I found cuts that I wanted to go with in the shorter term and then longer term. My stylist is amazing and I only use her. I won’t book with anyone else in the salon, in fact Lori has given me her hours so I know when to go in. My daughter and son both go to her, and she even told my daughter a style she picked (an emo layered style) wouldn’t work with her thick hair. Another stylist may have just given it to her without saying anything. She’s also the only stylist thus far that can use the clippers on my autistic son and not scare him.

  27. rochelle thundercloud on November 29, 2018 at 5:55 pm

How about please be up on your hygiene before going out in public. Let your stylist know if you have lice, allergic reaction, sensitivity, these are things that anyone in the beauty industry needs to be information on.

  28. Yaso on November 29, 2018 at 5:56 pm

I just started watching your videos and I just wanna say, you’re gonna go places girl. I used to be a hairstylist and was practically bullied out of the business and never again do I want to work in a salon, but I still have to go get it cut by some one and I get anxiety just even THINKING about going to a salon (luckily I found an amazing dude who is totally chill and vibes with me). But after watching this video it just reminded me of what a shitty business it is if you don’t find the right place, and don’t have the encouragement or thrive to keep going, but from the sounds of it you’ve found that and I’m so happy for you!

  29. Deanna Irsuto on November 29, 2018 at 5:57 pm

So I know this video is old (I just found your channel and adore your personality) but what is your professional opinion on someone who does color my hair a level 1 black and sometimes I’ll go to the salon sometimes I’ll do it myself. I know hair stylists probably cringe I do it myself BUT I have been jet black for 10 years now and i honestly don’t see myself changing it anytime soon lol I just always feel judgment from the stylist when they see I missed appointments and then I say I did my roots at home. To me black hair is black hair and I’m sure the color is better quality at a salon but I don’t know why I feel the judgement when I make it very clear I have no thought in my head to change the color anytime soon! Do you think I should go into a salon every 6-7 weeks for root touch up or can I maybe save some coin like I’ve been doing and go to the salon maybe 12-14 weeks ?! Thanks girl!

  30. Kristen Fettig on November 29, 2018 at 5:59 pm

Girl, I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos. I love how candid you are (and you’re absolutely stunning – insert jealous face here). You have such a great presence in front of the camera, and I can see how passionate you are by how you talk. I’m typically not one to watch talk videos, but you’re my one exception. Keep on keepin’ it real, girl. You are AWESOMENESS. 💗

  31. Tenar10r on November 29, 2018 at 6:00 pm

I hate the way you have applied your lipstick. I keep wanting to reach through the screen and wipe that mess off. On the other hand I absolutely adore your eye make up and would love to see a tutorial on how you got that amazing look. We have the same color eyes and I have been sticking with the same boring eyeshadow since probably high school. I would love some new inspiration for eyeshadow. This video was absolutely terrific I normally do tip any service personnel Such as hairstylist and waiters waitresses even the young man who takes my groceries to my car for me gets a tip. I do not go out to dinner or to a situation where tipping would be expected if I don’t have enough money to leave a tip. Sometimes I have left a very small tip like two dollars, and come back later in the afternoon and say this five dollars is for Christie. And make sure that the intended person gets the money.

  32. Tay Love on November 29, 2018 at 6:01 pm

Lmfao I spend bare minimum $100 to lighten my hair. I’ve always done it at home. I pay attention to what I’m using and how I need to use it. I’ve had my hair ruined more in salons that I have at home. I’ve messed my hair up twice at home and I’ve had it botched at a salon 6 times. I haven’t been to a salon in years because of it. I feel better knowing if by some small chance I ruin my hair I have no one to blame except myself

  33. Amber Turner on November 29, 2018 at 6:02 pm

Do u get paid hourly and then get tips?

  34. PhoenixHinds on November 29, 2018 at 6:02 pm

As a professional stylist I feel you nailed it with your informative points.
An additional note about tipping is that the necessity isn’t there if the stylist is a salon owner as they are getting additional money from everyone working for them but everyone else performing a service on or for you should definitely be tipped.

  35. Nu'blessed on November 29, 2018 at 6:05 pm

tipping should be banned in the USA and instead they should be paid properly

  36. Renata Bazilio on November 29, 2018 at 6:07 pm

Tips are polemic bc it’s a stupid Practice, your salary/prices should be enough to support you. To depend on tips to pay your bills is horrible.

  37. Nicole Caruana on November 29, 2018 at 6:07 pm

Also, black box dye is even more difficult to remove.

  38. The Darkside on November 29, 2018 at 6:09 pm

Took a few notes I admit. I know now I’ve never had a true consolation and have had very poor service. This makes me want to do a story time. I will be sure to link this video since I will reference it a tad.

  39. Snap Snap Spark Spark on November 29, 2018 at 6:09 pm

Love your ‘It Devours’ book in the background 👌

  40. Kaylee Rollison on November 29, 2018 at 6:09 pm

I once spent 11 hours in tge chair for silver 😭😭

  41. Flora Hime on November 29, 2018 at 6:10 pm

Pls tell me: When I go to salon and I want to have my hair bleached…. am I supposed to wash my hair before?
Cause I know that for the hair it’s better to have a little bit of oil (grease) on cause the hair get’s damaged a little less.
Then again I feel bad for the hairstylist who has to work on my greasy hair hmmm???

  42. Quimby Beckett on November 29, 2018 at 6:12 pm

How much should I tip? At a restaurant 15% tip is considered average. Should I be tipping 15% for hair stylist too? I’ve been going to the same stylist for 10 years and I always tip but I never know if I’m tipping enough.

  43. Sandra Price on November 29, 2018 at 6:13 pm

    New sub, love you already!!!!!!

  44. Audrey Scanlon on November 29, 2018 at 6:14 pm

  46. Toby kaye on November 29, 2018 at 6:18 pm

    i fuck with you. ✊🏽

  47. Daniel Lillico on November 29, 2018 at 6:19 pm

30-60 dollars for a bleach and dye at home!? are you drunk!? I’ve been dying my own hair funky colours for YEARS and bleach is 9$, the thinner is 3$ and the actual dye is like 3$! All I use all of every time is the bleach, and I have a multitude of tubes of thinner and colours at home.

This shit costs me like 15$ on a bad day, and 9$ on a good day.

  48. Hala Ubooy on November 29, 2018 at 6:21 pm

If somebody thinks its easy to be a hairdresser let them just try to do their services at home and then they will know how hard it is 😂🙈

  49. museera rajput on November 29, 2018 at 6:21 pm

i have a balayage and it was like the best decision ever man

  50. Pooka Princess on November 29, 2018 at 6:21 pm

I love u babe….but that canvas on the back wall scares the shit out of me. I want to throw holy water at it 😋
