Tips for New Hairdressers to Start Working and Succeeding
What happens in the salon… For beauty school students, cosmetologists, salon professionals, hairdressers, hairstylist; learn how to start you cosmetology, barber, skin care and manicuring careers. What it takes to get a job, advertise for clients, keep your clients, get along with your coworkers in the salon, get the fellow hairdressers share their knowledge with you, break into the beauty and fashion industry, go to classes, get continuous education, be professional; what do beginner hairdressers, manicurists, nail technicians and skin care therapists do to start working and making money after they graduated beauty school and got their license. Make a decision; to rent or to assist? Which one first; assisting or renting? Learn how to assist someone who will actually teach you instead of sending you to do errands. Do you need to dress for success: presentation matters. You need to be ethical and be cordial to your coworkers; you need them, even if you don’t like some of them. Know that your attitude is as important as your hairdressing skills. Listen to your clients. Surround your self with successful hairdressers to learn from them and stay motivated. Aim high. Are shampooing skills that important? What would make you lose a client: a bad wash. Clients could leave you if you don’t do a good shampoo; even if you did fabulous on their haircolor. Hairdresser hopping: it is a reality. Confidence, willpower and motivation are keys to keep the hairdresser successful. Guest artist; Marilyn, Video by BeautHealthTravel Channel.

When you promise what you cannot deliver you are setting yourself for disaster. It is easy to say," I can make you look beautiful" it is another thing to to be able to do it. 80% of new grads will give up. It is not for wussies.
