Excellent video, showing knowledge in all areas of the career. Thnks for the info
Great video, it gave me some insight on the money part.
Tough watch
nice video good things to think about, all the pension, liability insurance, is not really a big deal at least i would think for myself i think as long as u workout a system to manage your money with barbering u will be ok. One example would be open a savings account and put a percentage of your earnings for those things(pension, insurance etc.)
was a little distorted, especially during difficult times, vocusness can drift. thnx Mann.
Hard facts next time, interesting material but I didn’t learn the most important thing. How to cut hair.
Thank you ,for all the information
Thanks for the encouraging feedback. I am glad you enjoyed the video. Much luck to you in your career pursuits. Feel free to ask any questions if you think I can help.

I’m just trying to figure how to cut hair and being barber
Good insightful feedback! I have recently considered becoming a barber. I currently work in Corporate America and have for the past 20 years. I am completely burned out and would like to pursue a career in becoming a barber. I was torn because I did not know what to expect with the transition from corporate america to becoming an independent barber. This video provided some details that I needed. I currently work for a major corporation with an annual salary of $62,000. $46,612.81 after taxes. I have a family to support and would really like to know how much I can expect to make my first year as a barber. I know there are a lot of variables that determine this, but I want to make sure by making this decision I am not putting my family in financial constraints. My wife is employed so we could be covered under her health insurance. Also, I am looking at two different barber schools in Texas. The first school which seems to be the most popular has a total tuition cost of $17,500 and the second school has a tuition price of $6,000. Both schools claim to offer the same training on their websites. Why are their prices so drastically different? Obviously, the $6,000 is much more affordable. Is there any thing in particular I should look for in choosing a barber school? Any feedback would be appreciated.
How important is it to focus on your own race’s style of hair? How different are White vs Black hair styles? I noticed your link says ‘cutblackmanshair.com". I’m sure you can cut caucasian hair but I’m assuming you specialize in African style hair. I have made the observation that black men generally prefer other black men to cut their hair and white males generally use white barbers.
My local barber school is a majority black clientele and students. I want to make sure I’m going to be prepared for all styles of hair. Thanks in advance.
how long does it take to become a barber

Hey there Andre 3000!
Thank you man
I’m 19 graduated high school last year and I have been confused in highschool and now on if I want to become a barber or go to college. I live in detroit MI where I see barbershops on every corner and a lot of barbers aren’t license. what I’m trying to say is, i’m afraid that it is just too much competition in my city to actually make a comfortable living off of. Is it worth it. But I have love for the art but can make a good living
Great advice, thank you for sharing.
ive been cutting for about seven years it comes pretty easy and i am about a year away from finishing my degree. Im having a hard time deciding weather to finish school or continue cutting. I keep see-sawing back and forth. I have a set clientele and got comfortable with the money i get barbering. Whats your opinion ?
