watching this cuz im gonna cut my friend’s hair
isnโt the 1 and a half open blade basically a 2 ?
Interesting, my barber normally works in the opposite order, first use zero on the sides to begin the fade and then gradually increase the guard size as he moves upwards. I assumed all barbers did that, maybe it’s a UK thing.
4:24 u said ” Closed blade ” but it’s an open blade
Finally a vidoe I can understand
Hee hee, everyone is saying worst case, they buzz it all. I shaved mine about six months ago and now I’m starting to look like a koosh ball. (The school district had a bout of lice. So the public library staff also had a bout of lice. I usually love the children’s room, story time is usually my favorite. But maybe no more hugs when lice is going around.)
Imho, anything is better than koosh ball. But I think I can get something better than a buzz cut going. ๐ค
What is the best trimmer to buy? My husband bought conair but everything they do suck. I need a professional type
Iโm about to Practice . Hopefully it all goes well๐ค๐ฝ
Bro are you on Instagram like your video easy to follow your technique keep on putting on more like that

This is the best educational fade hair cut, clearly and understandable. Thank you, youโre my hero. God bless you.๐๐โค๏ธ๐ท
The absolute best video I have come across on how to use clippers. Thanks man!
I am not sure if this is helpful, but I thought you might benefit from my notes… great job on the video. Well done.
Also, I think the formula works like this. Total of 5 steps. Every step should reduce by 1/2 a point (in general).
Fading Down
1) #2 Guard (Purple) and Open Blade OR 2 + ยฝ = 2 ยฝ
2) #2 Guard (Purple) and Closed Blade OR 2 + 0 = 2
3) #1 Guard (Brown) and ยฝ Open Blade OR 1 + ยฝ = 1 ยฝ
4) #1 Guard (Brown) and ยผ Open Blade OR 1 + ยผ = 1 ยผ
5) #1 Guard (Brown) and Closed Blade OR 1 + 0 = 1
Fading Up โ all the steps above in the reverse order.
Meeting in the Middle
1) Blending it with #3 used at the topโฆ
2) #2 Guard (Purple) and ยฝ Open Blade OR 2 + ยฝ = 2 ยฝ
3) #2 Guard (Purple) and Closed Blade OR 2 + 0 = 2
4) #1 Guard (Brown) and Closed Blade at the bottom OR 1 + 0 = 1
5) #1 Guard (Brown) and ยผ Open Blade fading up OR 1 + ยผ = 1 ยผ
6) #1 Guard (Brown) and ยฝ Open Blade OR 1 + ยฝ = 1 ยฝ
Back Neckline Tapering
1) ยฝ Open Blade (No Guards) โ start at the very bottom
2) ยผ Open Blade
3) 3/8 Slightly Closed Blade
4) 0 or completely closed
5) 1/8 or slightly open to tie it all together
The Blend for Tapering (need special guard called the Half Guard (White)). Combined with the open blade will be represented as #1 Guard and with closed blade will be represented as ยฝ. Half way open with be represented as ยพ
1) All the way open or ยฝ + ยฝ = 1
2) ยฝ + ยผ = ยพ
3) ยฝ + 0 = ยฝ
Clean.

Soooo dope man, but, does the half guard is really necessary???
Great video on mixing the lever and guards, here on fathers day in the UK ready to cut my dads hair:)
Finally, I found the perfect video that explains so well the different levels of an open and closed blade with guards. Thank you!!
Is there any difference between a 0.5 resulting from an open lever and 0.5 resulting from a zero guard applied with lever closed ?
Pure skills. Good job

you are the best teacher from all teachers I watch, your video class 101 I have watched it 10 time to learn piece by piece to learn the fading and lending,I never used the clipper before, because I use to be scared how to use it,I used to get nervous when someone asked me that they want me cut their hair and I never did but I think by watching 101 I can use the clipper fading like I said you are the best. thank you, I used to live in Brooklyn I moved to Glendale ca, 2000, I wish I have seen your video then I would have come and took some lessons with you. bravo.

All other barbers on youtube: First use this guard (but let’s no mention open or closed MUAHAHAHA).. then use next lower guard OPEN..
Then let’s use this brand of clippers called the Max Lexingtonaouizxgblkjh ULTRA and make this line.. Then go back to wahl with 2 guard (MUAHAHAH but let’s not mention close or open again HAHAHA suckers)
