Hello my dear I am interested in cosmetology but only one field and that is being an esthician. I want to use it in combination with massage therapy. I have a question. Can I get a separate license as an esthician instead of the full range cosmetology?
I’m starting out late in this field. I am 44 and changing careers from admin to cosmetology. I am very nervous and very excited. Any suggestions?
I want to do makeup mostly but willing to learn everything else I’m actually a beginner so I hope I don’t mess up I watch all kind of tutorials on youtube and I practice but feel like I’m missing something. so passion and determination is key i’ll do this I’m not giving up

i am in community college right now and i am majoring in networking and security, but its really stressful and i was wondering if being a hairdresser/cosmetologist is a really stressful career? to me it seems really fun and great! thanks! 🙂
Not at all! I have many students like you that are doing better than anyone else. Remember, in school, everyone starts the same, so all is needed is hard work, determination, and friendly character.
So true
I’m so excited and passionate about this field that I can’t wait until I start taking classes this summer. I am so ready world here I come
It’s fun, but if you want to be successful, you have to work hard and never give up!

At my school, you dont need to know anything about how to do hair if u wanna go to tech for cosmo. Im already good at all that and it helps, but its not like u have to "try out"
😄
There is a video in this channel that has a power point presentation listing all the theory requirements for state board written test. The title is (1) COSMETOLOGY: REQUIREMENTS for STATE BOARD WRITTEN EXAM
Not late at all! In fact there are a lot of retirees in out school that would like to learn cosmetology; I have nurses, bartenders, massage instructor… It is a fun field! Best of luck to you! And don’t hesitate; you’ll do fine!
I’m interested in hair care and healthy hair. I’m always observing other people’s hair and I’m obsessed with all things hair. I don’t have the gift for doing hair but I feel drawn to the field of cosmetology. Even if I don’t naturally have the gift for doing hair, would I be a good candidate for cosmetology school? I always though that you needed to know how to do a basic cornrow at least to take cosmetology classes.
@shimom87You definitely could be a cosmetologist. The skill comes with practice; if you are determined and hard working enough; you will become a successful hairdresser. There is one more important aspect to cosmetology; your attitude and personality; now that is what will make you more successful than your acquired skill. Good luck!
You can be brain dead and still go to beauty school. Trust me, I go to school with a lot of stupid people
Thank you so much, when I’m older I want to e a cosmetologist!!!
