I never noticed this until I turned the sound up but when Daniel crosses that line and the quartet take that moment, Will does an AMAZING job helping pull Daniel back. You can hear him at 4:28 quietly give him the pitch to restart the process.

    Unbelievable performance and teamwork.

I was lucky enough to work with Mr. Cochran and the other wonderful men of Signature, at a workshop for high school choir students at Bethel University in Minnesota. When he mentioned this song as being one of his most memorable/emotional songs, I knew I had to look it up. It made me cry then, something like a year ago, and it makes me cry now. Thank you and bless you, Signature!

    Those chords at 3:33 & 4:04. Wow!

  4. Nikolas Porter on August 2, 2019 at 4:05 am

    92 or 93

  5. Geoffrey Helveston on August 2, 2019 at 4:11 am

I feel like if they did this for their finals piece instead of the semifinals, the could have won

  6. Joe Barker on August 2, 2019 at 4:12 am

Do not understand how 21 people gave this a thumbs down, this is absolutely beautiful, filled with true emotion and heartfelt expression – bravo, just bravo

  7. Megatwilightwarrior on August 2, 2019 at 4:13 am

This is the best. The chord at 4:03, the emotion, and the best Low B Ive ever heard.

  8. PinkHillProps on August 2, 2019 at 4:17 am

I need to go call my dad.

  9. MISSJHON on August 2, 2019 at 4:17 am

All I can say is WOW

  10. Connor Wosmek on August 2, 2019 at 4:17 am

I knew when I heard this live in Las Vegas, that Signature would go on to win a gold medal. Well…here we are in 2019. They did it. Signature won the gold medal in Salt Lake City last night.

  11. George Couch on August 2, 2019 at 4:17 am

I think about 1/5 of the total views of this are from me . To Signature for this performance, thank you with all that I am.

  12. Hanfgurkenhasser on August 2, 2019 at 4:19 am

Looks like Martin Wahlgren finally has some competition when it comes to sonority of low notes, impressive song!

  13. Nick Grenier on August 2, 2019 at 4:20 am

Wow… I’m assuming perhaps the lead singer’s father had recently passed? Because that was as much emotion as I’ve ever seen in a performance. Blown Away…

  14. Adam Haggart on August 2, 2019 at 4:21 am

Daniel Cochran, stop it. Stop it right this instant. I’m tired of crying at this video. The people that sit on the other side of my cubicle at work are sincerely worried about me. I think HR is about to call me in for a meeting because they are worried about me.

    Sincerely,

    Everyone

  15. Denis Santos on August 2, 2019 at 4:21 am

  23. SociallyAuquard on August 2, 2019 at 4:29 am

Singing while crying is probably the hardest thing a singer could do. Well done!

  24. Asi Hosea on August 2, 2019 at 4:30 am

    That bass though!

  25. Brenda Rantala-Sykes on August 2, 2019 at 4:30 am

  27. Güber McSanchez on August 2, 2019 at 4:33 am

Right in the feels! Amazing performance. Bravo and thank you.

  28. Rand Zopyr on August 2, 2019 at 4:33 am

These guys are amazing, such a tight harmony. I especially love the unique sound of the tenor – he brings something special to the group.

  29. kingdomdrummer on August 2, 2019 at 4:34 am

Wow as a man I share no shame in saying I cried along with this brother. This was truly amazing.

  30. Wei Choon Goh on August 2, 2019 at 4:35 am

Pure heart. The original Vandross version is incredible, but something about the stripped back vocal purity and rawness of this version that keeps me coming back. To pause for more than 20 seconds to let that emotion sink in, then deliver a shaky, emotionally-charged verse. UNBELIEVABLE.

  31. Andy Miller on August 2, 2019 at 4:37 am

    Wow… can’t type. Incredible.

  32. morris4morris on August 2, 2019 at 4:38 am

Absolutely amazing. I had the pleasure of witnessing these young men perform this amazing rendition of this song today in Alexandria, Va, (guest of the Alexandria Harmonizers). Not a dry eye in the house. I came home and watched it with headphones on, eyes closed. Amazing.

  33. Felis Dee on August 2, 2019 at 4:40 am

    Gorgeous.

  34. Nickey Dickey on August 2, 2019 at 4:41 am

I saw them live and it was so magical I actually cried because this was the first song that made me remember my dad

  35. Vire on August 2, 2019 at 4:42 am

3:02 to 4:14 is just masterful arranging from Theo and a masterful performance from Signature.

  36. Lee Daum on August 2, 2019 at 4:46 am

Wow! What an awesome and moving performance! Thank you, Signature Quartet!

  37. b33p on August 2, 2019 at 4:46 am

    Wow. That was some performance.

  38. Karen Gilliland on August 2, 2019 at 4:46 am

When I was a little girl, I used to stand on my Pops feet, and he would dance around with me. He died when I was 16, many years ago, and I still miss him. This song brought back sweet memories for me . Thank you Signature, you guys are great!

  39. Jake Hibbard on August 2, 2019 at 4:47 am

One of the best bass voices I’ve ever heard in my life. Props, man

  42. E-Diggyy on August 2, 2019 at 4:54 am

This is my first time watching this since losing my father back in March. Even more beautiful now.

  43. Bernie Reen on August 2, 2019 at 4:54 am

I found out this morning that my father had passed away from colon and liver cancer. This song hits home harder then any I’ve listened to. Thank you

  44. Tyler Goh on August 2, 2019 at 4:54 am

This is the most powerful barbershop quartet performance I’ve seen. A performance that exposes the emotional vulnerability of one singer to show the overall cohesion and support of the entire quartet. It felt like an entire narrative arc, with a great loss and amazing support to result in overall harmony. To have that kind of vulnerability and still pull through a flawless performance is stunning.

  45. Paul S on August 2, 2019 at 4:56 am

This is perhaps the first performance of a song that has actually had me crying by the end…simply put…perfection…

  46. percynjpn on August 2, 2019 at 4:57 am

    Very touching!
