Understanding it, and actually performing or perfecting it is too totally different things, I do see that Chuka does blend differently than the average barber, really strokes, most people I see blend(even myself). Good info
I just think a lot of people don’t know what to LOOK for when fading. Its all about developing an eye and viewing your previous work. Then everyone has their own technique, we’re all individual artists….Personal experience is the biggest factor
chuka, my biggest problem with barbers is that when i asked for a simple low fade or mid fade, they end up blending it too tight. i prefer some thickness to the fade because otherwise a low to mid fade can easily turn into a military cut, which i hate.
i have always done my fades from longest to shortest or skin. but i have been wanting to perfect my fades so i have been checking out a couple barbers ( im cosmetologist) that i feel are very talented and wish to learn more when it comes to fades. i have been watching you alot. i also want to invest in more equipment and would like your input. i have my osterv76 with blades my wahl designer and peanut. been seeing you use thw detailers ad tblade. i would love your feed back

Great advice Chuka, but how exactly do you achieve a tighter blend? Sometimes I find myself spending way too much time touching up and eliminating bulk while barbers around me are zipping through crispy cuts at a faster pace. Explain the trick.
