Why Should You Oil Your Clipper Blades?
Why Should You Oil Your Clipper Blades?
In this video, I discuss the importance of oiling hair clipper blades and I’ll show you a demonstration of how to oil them properly. Keeping your clipper blades lubricated should be your number one priority when it comes to maintaining your hair clipper. Operating a hair clipper with blades that are not properly lubricated can create a variety of different problems, not only for the blades, but the clipper itself, which over time will end up costing you more money in sharpening and repairs.
Hi, my name is Nick George with Clouds Diamond Sharpening. I’m a professional technician who has been working on hair cutting tools and equipment for the last 20 years. I specialize in hair clipper blade sharpening, scissor/shear sharpening, hair clipper repair and much more! My clipper blade sharpening process is unique as I use a special grinding wheel with a specific geometrical pattern that was designed by my Grandfather which gives me the ability to be able to sharpen any hair clipper blade using actual diamond (1500 grit), which provides a smoother, polished finish.

how much to sharpen Wahl competition series #10 blades?
Great video. Thanks!
To clean my Wahl, I simply brush off any loose stubble, then hold the shaver over the sink (or trash can) and drip Neutrogena Light Body Oil over the head assembly, while it’s running. The oil is thin enough that the gunk will drip off and you will hear the speed of the shaver increase. Then just dry with a paper towel.
Some people say that too much oil on the blades is bad. Like, this provokes the accumulation of hair on blades and and shortens the life of the blades. Personally, I’m a supporter – you can not spoil the blades with oil (there is a Russian saying: Butter never spoils the porridge).
Do you think there can be too much oil on the blades?
What happens if you accidentally got blade oil in your mouth that’s why I’m asking
Do you recommend oiling the ceramic blades as often as regular all metal blades??
