Every one keeps showing ways how to cut out a photo with details of hair but on a plain background…I want to know how to cut out the photo from a detailed multiple colors background…say from one photo to another
It is easy when you have one color background. With multiple color background this tutorial is useless .

my Tolerance is on 1% and it still paints over even black and I am targeting and even colour picked almost white..

Good tutorial and really good explained but YouTube is full with cut out hair tutorials with perfect backgrounds. All you guys should do some more realistic settings because I bet my CC subscription that less than 1% on here are professional photographers with huge studio sets.
this is your second video in which you showed uniform background. And that’s very easy to remove even for begginers. please use the different background

Hello, I am trying to try this method, but unfortunately, I can’t seem to see the transparent background start to appear on the picture. I can see what I’m doing in the Layers Panel, but not actually where I am painting over…. HELP

Can you please make some videos on "how to cut out an image from a multicolored background ". I have learnt something from your on using the Background Eraser Tool and Channel method as well, but in all of them there’s a single color background, but not a complex background like a garden or any natural scenery. Hope you can understand my point, and I request you to give a video for that. Thank you.

I think I have watched an earlier similar tutorial from your hand, also with an evenly gray background of good contrast. I understand why you stay comfortably away from the residual problems with separation of hair from a background – not least from busy backgrounds which are more common.
The persisting problem is with stray hair that have obtained a hue very close to the hue of the background. While the human eye can distinct between hair and background, the tools in Photoshop will not distinct between glare with an identical hue adjacent to the hair and the hair itself. Our brain knows which part is hair and which part is glare due to patterns, the tools doesn’t, because guiding structures and the concept of "hair" is unknown to the machine, and AI is still a small town in Russia. I am not very patiently waiting for the perfect tool.
Nice tutorial, but it would be nice to make a tutorial which consist selecting hair on messy background and on background which has no contrast against the hair, becouse in 90 % of cases we are struggling with messy background. In that situation your technique doesn’t work.
That would be nice tutorial.
Everybody on youtube make tutorials and choose the simplest task with one colored backgroud. That is a simple task and isn’t too much useful.
So my suggestion wold be to make a heavy task tutorial, that would help us a lot.
